E-Commerce Development for Retail: Catalog, POS & Logistics

An online store turns foot traffic into omnichannel sales. You don't need a templated solution with limits; you need a platform that syncs inventory with your POS, manages warehouse stock, and automates shipping. S2 Digital builds a store that runs as reliably offline as your physical shops do.

Retail E-Commerce Pain Points

Off-the-shelf platforms like Shopify or ERP systems-Bitrix promise quick setup, but drown you in manual work. Product prices online don't match your POS. When a customer orders online, your in-store staff don't see it and sell the same item offline, leaving the online customer disappointed. Returns, exchanges, shipping - every operation needs manual sync across systems.

  • Product sync between online and offline (prices, stock) requires manual work or expensive integrations
  • Customers see products that don't exist in reality (lost sales)
  • Complex returns and exchange management across channels
  • Shipping: no automation, costly courier integrations
  • Large catalogs (thousands of products) slow down the site
  • Templates don't handle retail specifics (flash sales, seasonality, size matrices)

Omnichannel and Unified Inventory

Analytics and Retail Metrics

Admins see how each sales channel performs: what sells better online, which products need more promotion, which locations depend on delivery. Use this to optimize purchasing, ads, and pricing.

  • Sales by channel: online vs. offline vs. marketplaces (if integrated)
  • Product popularity: trending items, slow-movers, growing categories
  • Conversion metrics: average order value, traffic sources, click patterns
  • Inventory turnover: fast-moving stock, items needing repricing
  • Returns analysis: return frequency by product type and category
  • Profit per item: accounting for cost, shipping, return probability

FAQ

Do we manually upload products from our POS to the online store?

No. We set up automatic sync: add a product in your POS, it appears online with the correct name, price, photos, and stock. One-time setup, then forget about it.

How do we handle products that come in multiple sizes and colors?

The store supports product variants: one item (e.g., a shirt) has variants (sizes S, M, L and colors black, white). Each variant has its own price and inventory count. Customers select before adding to cart.

Which shipping companies are supported?

We integrate courier services, Yandex Delivery, pickup-point networks, Boxberry, EMS, DHL, FedEx. When an order confirms, a shipment is auto-created, the customer gets tracking, and all shipments appear in your admin panel.

What if a customer wants to cancel or return?

The admin panel has cancel and return actions. Cancel refunds the payment; return accepts the item back at the warehouse and restores inventory. Auto-generated return labels are sent to customers and logged with couriers.

Will the store be fast enough? Can it handle thousands of products?

We optimize everything: catalog caching, image compression, CDN delivery. Expected result: 90+ PageSpeed, category pages load in under 1 second on 3G.

What happens next year? Who maintains the store?

We stay on for support: bug fixes, updates for payment systems, new integrations, analytics optimization. Support budget typically 10-15% of dev cost annually.

Can we sell on marketplaces (Yandex.Market, marketplaces) at the same time?

Yes. We can sync your store with marketplaces: products, prices, stock stay current everywhere. Marketplace orders appear in your admin panel alongside all other orders.
